Telematics System Engineer




Responsibilities

  • Working as a part of the system engineering team, derive the telematics and cloud communication specification for multiple product variants that ensure our system is implementable across the automotive industry.

  • Deliver the key system engineering deliverables including failure and robustness analysis, system performance analysis and specification documentation to demonstrate that attribute, safety and security requirement can be met.

  • Act as primary contact to key telematics stakeholders and suppliers, representing ClearMotion.

  • Develop simulation models that support a continuous testing methodology working with the cloud software, vehicle control system and vehicle integration teams.

  • Work with the test engineering team to derive test requirements and test methods that meet the project timeline and budget whilst ensuring robust delivery.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering, or related technical field

  • Subject matter expert in research and production telematic systems from both an electronic hardware and software perspective.

  • Broad knowledge of production vehicle electrical and software architectures and relevant industry standards

  • Knowledge of functional safety and cyber security implementation methods.

  • Some experience with model-based systems engineering methods


Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge of mechatronic chassis systems and vehicle dynamics

  • Significant model based system engineering experience

  • Experience delivering safety critical software or hardware products and application to relevant industry standards (ISO/SAE etc..)
